2 years! That is how long it took us to be able to photograph Rita and Chris’ big day! We first met Rita, Chris, and their kiddos for a beautiful engagement session at Sandy Point State Park, and we knew after meeting them, it was going to be such a special day for everyone involved!

     Their original day was planned for June of 2020 and I’m sure you can guess what happened next…COVID hit and the date of their big day changed a few times.

     Fast forward to June 26th, 2021…the MOST PERFECT summer day for a wedding! Low 80s, sunny with a few clouds here and there, and a nice breeze made for the ideal reception located at The Silver Swann which is a beachfront venue, right on Maryland’s Eastern Shore!

     If you asked Rita and Chris, I am sure they would tell you that their day was absolutely PERFECT (because it was!). Even though the summer beach traffic at the bay bridge lived up to its usual summer stereotype and traffic prevented the events from starting on time, they were both so calm and collected the entire day, it didn’t phase them one bit!

     The day started out with the ladies getting ready on Kent Island overlooking the Bay – what a great start to the day! Hair and makeup were done, drinks were had, and music was listened to as everyone got ready for the main event. Rita and her bridesmaids (slowly – thanks beach traffic!) made their way over the bridge for the ceremony at Calvary United Methodist Church in Annapolis. During the ceremony, you could see the true emotion on Rita and Chris’s faces, it was beautiful! As Rita, Chris, and her kids became one family, they shared a special moment by pouring sand into a glass jar that signified they were now ‘officially’ one family.

     After the ceremony at Calvary Baptist Church in Annapolis, we (slowly – again!) made our way across the bridge to their beautiful, quaint, beachfront venue for cocktails, family pictures, and beautiful beach sunset photos. The reception was beautifully decorated with little personal touches, and they even had a little “entertainment corner” for the kids to watch movies during the reception! We love when bride and grooms incorporate their families into all aspects of their wedding day and Rita and Chris did this in such a special and unique way! During the reception,  the DJ invited both of their families on the dance floor to dance to “We Are Fam-a-ly” (sing it with us!), which signified both families coming together as one. Chris and his mom also had an amazing choreographed dance that turned out to be a great show for everyone! His mom can really dance 🙂

     It was a true honor to capture this special couple as they exchanged vows through tears, celebrated, and danced the night away as the new Mr. and Mrs. Trew. A fairytale ending to a long-awaited day! We wish you both a lifetime of love! Congratulations, again!
